The students from International Program of Communication Studies (IP-COS), Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta had successfully finished their participation in Summer Enrichment Programme in Universiti Malaya, Malaysia on Saturday (16/9). Since 5 September 2022, eight students from IP-COS took courses with Universiti Malaya students in Media and Communication Department.

In two weeks, they learn about media studies through a few courses, which are gender and media, media and social, research method on media studies, and media and politics. Moreover, IP-COS students also gained knowledge about Malaysian culture and history through the learning process and visiting to several historical places in Malaysia, like Putrajaya, Melaka Historical City, and the National Museum of Malaysia.

The director of IP-COS, Muria Endah Sokowati, stated that she wants her students to have a chance to have an international learning environment and broaden their international networking.

“Having experience in studying abroad and broadening international networking is one of the ways for students to develop their multicultural perspective,” said Muria. She also hoped that the eight students of IP-COS can do an international collaborate and can encourage other IP-COS students to be active in many international activities.
