IP-COS
Communication Studies of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) has a long tradition of offering board knowledge on the social, cultural, political and historical dimensions of Communication and Media. The Bachelor Degree of Communication Program was established in 1996. In its 22nd anniversary, the Department of Communication Studies of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) has experienced a lot of progress year by year.
Nowadays, we have a new curriculum to guarantee that the students master the communication competence needed in the work at the communication field. In addition, more concretely, for instance, the students get a practical course to enhance their skills. UMY was recognized as the 4th best university and become the top private university in Indonesia and Universities (4icu) World University Rankings and Reviews and accredited Internationally by QS Stars. The Department of Communication Studies of UMY welcomes you to International Program of Communication Studies (IP-COS) UMY. The focus of the IP-COS is on Public Relations (PR). This program offers students an opportunity for language development and learning experiences in the Public Relations (PR) fields.

Strong Curriculum
The IP-COS UMY curriculum is emphasized in communication science that has multicultural insight. It is expected that graduates can become Public Relations who have multicultural insight. Multiculture in this context is not only in the context of Indonesia but globally and internationally. Graduates are expected to be able to work in international institutions and/or multinational companies,
International Opportunities
IP-COS UMY works closely with some of the most prominent companies in their fields, partnering with local and international organizations to offer students maximum exposure to a real work environment. In addition, the program offers a student exchange program. A student exchange program is a program in which students are given the opportunity to study abroad at one of their institution’s partner institutions. Hence, the students would have an international experience.
Institutional Collaborations
We focus on student-centered learning to explore students’ individual potentials. The students will be taught by leading names in Public Relations and communications. They will also have the opportunity to collaborate with industry professionals in journalism, public relations, and entertainment fields.

There are partnerships with various and notable universities which allow IP-COS to invite remarkable visiting professors in the field.
